Hiroshima City Library possesses several notable collections. The Asano Collection comprises old Japanese and Chinese books and charts donated by the Asano family, descendents of an important lord of the Hiroshima fiefdom. The A-bombed city of Hiroshima has collected a variety of materials related to the atomic bombing.
